NextGen

NextGen supports both FHIR and proprietary APIs. We target FHIR wherever possible to stay portable.

Capabilities

• Read demographics, appointments, and clinical notes for CoCM patients.
• Push care summaries as documents attached to the patient chart.
• Reconcile medication lists against Profound Health treatment plans.

Implementation Details

• Authentication uses OAuth 2.0 with client credentials; tokens are practice-scoped.
• Some practices expose multiple facilities per tenant-our sync respects the locationId to avoid data bleed.
• When NextGen emits HL7 ORU messages, we normalize them into FHIR Observations for internal consistency.

Considerations

• Throttle to 60 requests/minute to stay within NextGen guidance.
• Error responses include opaque codes; we translate them into actionable messages in Partner Ops dashboards.

Coordinate customizations through the Partner Ops team to ensure configuration remains deterministic.
