GE Healthcare Centricity / athenaPractice integrations rely on HL7 v2 interfaces bridged into our FHIR-normalized schema.
Data Flow
- HL7 ADT messages drive patient demographics and admission updates.
- ORU messages deliver lab results and vital signs for measurement-based care.
- Outbound ORM/ORU messages communicate care plan changes back to the partner when enabled.
Implementation Details
- Interfaces are provisioned via Redox or another integration engine selected by the partner.
- Messages are parsed and stored raw in Supabase for audit, with structured data mapped into
care.measurementsand related tables. - ACK/NACK responses return immediately so we do not block the partner’s interface engine.
Security & Monitoring
- Connections run over VPN or TLS with mutual certificates.
- Interface heartbeat monitors alert us if messages stop flowing for more than 15 minutes.
- Replay tooling allows us to reprocess historical HL7 messages without duplicating downstream actions.
Coordinate channel provisioning early; GE interface teams often require 4–6 weeks of lead time.
